Long Holiday

I am on a long holiday which will be last for 16 days. Feel like having a school term break now. Hehe. However, I feel exhausted everyday although I am on a holiday, even have lesser sleeping than usual working days.

Last weekend I was busy celebrating winter solstice with my ex-colleagues at my place, I prepared tong yuen and steamboat with helps from KTV, it was very fun and the food not bad too (hehe, I prepared it!). Then the next day straight bound to southern part of Malaysia with my colleagues for our Jalan-jalan Cari Makan trip. First we reached Seremban, Malacca subsequently, following by Muar and Pulau Kukup. We touched down at KL on 24th since each of us have own plan for the Christmas eve celebration whereas mine is watching the Mama Mia play with my sister and cousin.

Then on the 25th I went shopping with my family like a zombie, and finally able to catch some good sleep on this day. The next day I went for movie "Ip Man" with Eric, I almost overslept even though the movie is in the afternoon, haha, anyway, it is a nice movie la, one of the best among the HK film, I had a great time. Then after the movie, I was again being pulled for Mahjong session at Alvin's place till this morning, somemore lost money wei. We played until 5am and slept for few hours and then rushed out again with KTV to shop for my furniture.

Now I have few days for me to take rest until my next northern trip on the coming week (hopefully). Actually there is a long to-do list awaiting me for this long break, but seems I don't have time for it. Really gotta tone it down a bit, else I won't be able to do anything productive during this long sweet holiday.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Mama Mia! Two thumbs up!

It's Christmas! I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I have came out a list of new year resolution and all I need is the determination, I really wish 2009 will be a better year for myself and all of my friends.

I'm not a Christian, thus it is always a a ritual for me to count down Christmas at the club, but this year is different. I just came back from the Mamamia musical play with my sister and cousin. The show was great, but I am very tired coz I was out of town since Monday and just came back from Pulau Kukup in the afternoon. I will stop for now and again, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you!!

Christmas present for me from my colleague Danny - a CD of Jason Mraz, somemore special edition with the t-shirt wei! Really thanks a lot! I love it so much. Thanks again Danny.

Fall ill

I had high fever on and off for few days in the past week. I was on a half day MC on Monday, then MC again on Tuesday, then get back to work on Wednesday but fever again in the afternoon thus getting another half day MC. Even until today, still I am not fully recover and panting even just walk few steps of the staircase, and also feeling fatigue, dizzy and joint aches.

I've never fall ill in such serious condition before, in fact, I seldom fall ill last time, now I can really feel the decrease in my health. That day I got fever of close to 40 degree celcius, home alone yet all I have is instant noodle; I have no choice but merely take the milo and sleep for whole day. I feel like my head is going to explode and whole body is burning, man it's really torturing. Now it raise my awareness of how important to have a healthy body.

Since I'm alwasy active in sport, I guess I am weak now probably due to I eat out everyday; thus now I wanna set one of my new year resolution to be more health conscious and pick up some cooking skill to make some simple dish for myself. Chrys has provided me some recipe for chinese herb soup and I will definitely try it out very soon.

Picnic @ Sg. Chongkak with Sayangan kids

Su Yin invited Peter, Alfred and myself together with another 30 peoples to bring the kids from Rumah Sayangan for a picnic at Sg. Chongkak. Nothing much need to be done by us except preparing food and have fun together with the kids.

We reached Rumah Sayangan at Cheras in the morning; after having our self introduction and ice breaking with the kids, we started our journey to Hulu Langat. The waterfall is just about 30 minutes drive away from Cheras, this place is relaxing, the chill water is crystal clear and you can hear the bird chirping and wind chimes. Everyone really enjoyed themselves very much including myself.

Nice waterfall

Off we go for the games

everyone was having fun. And there are bubbles too.

Splash~~

Peter and me with John Wong, a smart kid that can talk non-stop. :)

终于。。

TEMNL - Part 7 - Wallpaper

BORING~~~

Let's do something on it!

Use double sided tape to stick it on the wall before take the sticker off.

After more than an hour, it's finally done. I was being told by the girl who sold this to me it's not that difficult to do this. She is partially correct. It is not difficult but not too easy though, my legs start to tremble after 15 minutes standing on the ladder. Besides, I need to climb up and down the ladder whenever I am done with one stick of the sticker. It really need patience to take out the sticker and stick on the wall carefully to ensure it won't torn nor got bubble beneath under the sticker.

Tadaa! It's done! Did it from afternoon till evening. So tired yet great sense of achievement. Just notice it is matching with my floral pattern lamp too. Feels so romantic eh.. hehe

I Don't Miss You At All - Norah Jones

As I sit and watch the snow
Fallin' down
I don't miss you at all
I hear children playin' laughin' so loud
I don't think of your smile

So if you never come to me
You'll stay a distant memory
Out my window I see lights going dark
Your dark eyes don't haunt me

And then I wonder who I am
Without the warm touch of your hand
And then I wonder who I am
Without the warm touch of your hand

As I sit and watch the snow
Fallin' down
I don't miss you at all
I don't miss you at all
I DON'T MISS YOU AT ALL

To end my nomad life - Part 6 - My Room

I have shifted in to my Gu Poh Nguk since last few weeks, but still yet to settle down. Too many things to do, too little time; especially at my slumber and slow pace. The living hall is not furnished except the sofa, that's why I seldom laze around at the living hall; I spend most of my time in my room.

My room is very messy, I have no drawer nor book rack yet to store my stuff. Nevertheless, I love my wardrobe and platform, it makes my room feel so cosy. I can look at the sky outside of my full-length window while lying on bed; and I can see and hear the kids having fun at the swimming pool from my room too... Aw, I just love my room so much except there is no book rack yet to store my precious books.

Love it

Mattress just arrived, haven't get a bedsheet for it. :p. You can also see the sun is so striking in the evening due to it facing west.

Close shot of the curtain in my room. With two layers.

This is the curtain in my living hall. Actually I don't quite like it, and there is only single layer. I am thinking to add another curtain rod and make it to double layer just like the one I am having in my room.

The Awakening

It is my sister's suggestion to attend "The Awakening" concert at the eleventh hour. There I bought the tickets a day before the concert for myself, my 2 sisters, my sister's colleague and my colleague - Chia Lee. As per our expectation, we can't get a good seats, but good enough that we are still able to get the ticket.

This is a charity show that showcase the talents of performers from China and Malaysia, the proceeds of this concert will fund the operating expenses of the Amriteswari Foundation centers in Puchong, Semenyih and Penang.

The show was great, especially the performance performed by the China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe. These hearing impaired artistes have toured the world extensively and front-lined at the Beijing Paralympics this year. Can you believe that? They are deaf yet can dance so gracefully. Bravo!

The Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva. It's definitely a WOW.

Wow!

The Soul of a Peacock - I personally love this one the most.

So gracefully. I think she was being caged with a peacock for months to catch the feel of how to being one. :p

Butterfly Lovers - 梁山伯与祝英台

Green Seedlings - a lively dance, the "grass" is so cute.

Yellow Earth - another lively dance, can feel the "umph"

Besides, I was impressed by the DeafBeat drum troupe which comprises by local deaf musicians. This being said people with disabilties in our very own country which passionate about art is now given chance to join this fast growing drum troup which established by YMCA since 2007.

The DeafBeat Drum Troupe

All the performers in this concert were not here for our symphaties; they show us that though their lives are a bumpy journey, yet they strive and work hard to overcome the obstacles in order to pursuit their dream. Shouldn't we give our full support to them and feel gladful for having what we have?

N/A

I know you must hate me now. If it makes you any happier, my life is no better than yours, but why compete? This is how I survive. The Tammy you know is long gone, I sincerely wish you have a good life ahead.

Terry Fox Run 2008

I just came back from the Lake Garden for the Terry Fox Run. It was very crowded and it's more like a fun WALK rather than fun RUN. However, the fun is real for sweating it out and embrace the mother nature on a breezy morning; seriously the 5km distance is just a piece of cake. It's even more fun when we enjoyed our yummy dim sum at Taman Connaught after the event, there we put back our calories. Haha.

We are the representatives of HP Cyberjaya. Just few of us, so pathetic.

Alvin's failed attempt to mimic the sun with his head. :p

Detox with applesss

Me and few of my colleagues were undergoing detox plan since Tuesday. The detox approach we were using which is just taking apples and water continuously for 3 days. It's not just for slimming purpose, but also for health purpose and hopefully to improve my skin condition as well.

Day 1 : I was like a zombie since morning due to the caffeine dependency. Craving for food especially during lunch, very suffering and almost feel like giving up, first day considered the most suffering phase perhaps due to not used to it yet, have to keep remind myself not to give up. Slept at 9pm coz really too tired. Took 3 apples for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus a sugarless soya bean before sleep.

Day 2 : Woke up at 6am++, do some light exercise and yoga at home. Feel better compare to first day but still feeling fatigue. Slept at 10pm. Took 3 apples only in a day. Rushed to toilet a lot of times although I didn't consume much food, guess those are the "outcome" of my detoxifying. :p

Day 3 : Last day of detox. I was amazed that I was still able to be determined. Just took a glass of warm honey in the morning and 3 apples again for whole day. Again, did some yoga and stretching at home then go to bed at 10pm++.

Day 4 : Yahoo!! it's all over. I weight myself and so surprised that I have slim down 2kg in merely 3 days! Great sense of achievement!! And surprisingly I don't have much craving for food anymore and feel very fresh, albeit it's not that obvious in my skin improvement, but I can feel my body was being cleanse up like after a spring cleaning. Actually this is my second times practise this and I can say it's definitely a great experience and I will recommend you to do it too!

JoJo Pan Mee

Yeah, I have found a new makan place for delicious pan mee. It is the Jojo cafe which located at Kuchai Lama Entrepreneurs Park. They serve really special pan mee in lots of varieties; even the chilli paste are in 3 types. Actually it was KTV who heard about this shop, initially she was so excited about it mainly due to it's origin from her hometown which is the east coast of Malaysia, but after that we heard more and more people recommend this place, so we know we must make it to give it a try one day!!!

Finally we make it today! Wow, the pan mee here is really zheng. The chilli paste also very nice and makes me keep eating it just like that before the pan mee being served. I tried the Herbal Pan Mee and I almost drain the whole bowl of soup. The traditional "刀麻切" which ordered by KTV also not bad, these noodles are having the special chewy texture.

Besides, we ordered the Taufu Far, KTV claimed that the taufu far from her hometown is very smooth, unbeatable by the taufu far selling in KL! I gave her a -_- expression while she said that; but surprisingly, the normal-looking tau fu fa really yummy, it is so tender and smooth. It just slip thru my throat once I scoop it into my mouth. It's overall a superb lunch, Zheng! Another must try in town, it is just same row with the famous Win Soon Fishhead Noodle at Kuchai Lama. I wanna go again to try on their Lat Jiu Pan Mee. Slurp~~~

The chilli paste. The right most one is delicious even just eat like that.

麻切 - meaning "cut by big knife" in Hakka (Dao Ma Chet). Funny name.

Pan Mee in Herbal Soup. Superb!!

Huat Lar!!

It was a special day for me on 9th Oct 2008. I have moved into my cozy corner on this day; albeit it's not a "real" moving in until I got my wardrobe installed, but still I feel very excited.

Why 9th of Oct? Hmm, I am kinda 8 poh nowadays, my sister chose the date for me from the "tong sheng". Besides, I also followed some custom such as boil water once I enter the house, and put some rice at each corner of the house to get rid of those "dirty" stuff and etc. Hahaha. I found it funny too.

Actually I felt very happy because my colleagues so "give face" to come to my house on this day. They made my house so merry for the first time, although I felt like it is going to explode with all the noises we made, especially some of them shout "Huat Lar!" when they enter my house, I can feel the echo is soooo strong. Haha.. They are really a bunch of funny colleagues of mine.

Now I am waiting for my wardrobe to be installed, at the mean time will shop for some furniture and electrical appliance. Hopefully can officially move in by November. :)

Full house

Part of the DBA team. I requested Chia Lee to wear in red together with me to "Ong" my house. Haha.

All sit on the floor. *paiseh

makan time

I bought the Domino's but the food is not enough eh. Really under estimate their stomach capacity. Haha. I will keep in mind to buy more food for my official house warming.

All of us (Me as the photographer)

So touching, they gave me Ang Pow too. ^___^

The Winner Takes It All

The Winner Takes It All - a song that make me cry in the cinema.

I don't wanna talk
About the things we've gone through
Though it's hurting me
Now it's history
I've played all my cards
And that's what you've done too
Nothing more to say
No more ace to play

The winner takes it all
The loser standing small
Beside the victory
That's her destiny

I was in your arms
Thinking I belonged there
I figured it made sense
Building me a fence
Building me a home
Thinking I'd be strong there
But I was a fool
Playing by the rules

The gods may throw a dice
Their minds as cold as ice
And someone way down here
Loses someone dear
The winner takes it all
The loser has to fall
It's simple and it's plain
Why should I complain.

But tell me does she kiss
Like I used to kiss you?
Does it feel the same
When she calls your name?
Somewhere deep inside
You must know I miss you
But what can I say
Rules must be obeyed

The judges will decide
The likes of me abide
Spectators of the show
Always staying low
The game is on again
A lover or a friend
A big thing or a small
The winner takes it all

I don't wanna talk
Cause it makes me feel sad
And I understand
You've come to shake my hand
I apologize
If it makes you feel bad
Seeing me so tense
No self-confidence
But you see
The winner takes it all
The winner takes it all...

Time to change

I'm not a perfect person, not even close to that. I've seen enough of weaknesses in myself; it's time for me to change to be a better person, no more excuses and pracrastenating this time.

Crème Brûlée hunting @ 7atenine

Allan came across an article recommending the crème brûlée at this restaurant called 7atenine which located at the Ascott KL. I thought this is just another chill out spot with nothing more than alcohol and music, never expect they serve good food too. Hmm, well, actually the main course is just so-so, perhaps we didn't order their signature dishes; but the crème brûlée is heavenly delicious, it's rich in fragance of egg and smooth; yet match perfectly with the alcohol that serve together with it; it's a beautiful scene when the waitress burn the alcohol and pour it on the creme brulee, there it leave a crunchy topping, SUPERB! Nevertheless, I like the ambience too, it is nice and poshy, I can see the KLCC from the glass roof above me. Allan, thanks for the dinner!

Chic!
