How to say good bye

Aunty of Danny just passed away few days ago. I met her merely few times before, but still I feel upset when I get the news. I guess it's norm to feel upset over someone's death, be it you just met him/her once or million times. The topic of death make people feel helpless and afraid, that's why it remains a taboo and nobody has taught us how to say good bye ever. But why? we all know all human will die eventually, why can't we just being taught a better way to say good bye?

It reminds me a favourite movie of mine - Elizabeth town. It's a love story but the part that makes me love this movie is when it talk about how the family deal with the death of the dad/husband. There is a scene the wife perform a tap dancing at her late husband's funeral; and joke about life as a widow. Why she did so? Definitely it's sad for her to part from her husband, but life still goes on, she just need to be strong and take care of herself and of course the family too. Whoever is gone already gone, the most important is the person being left behind. I believe if the person still can see us from somewhere up there, he/she will be happy too and continue his/her journey with no worries. I hope we can say good bye in this way.

Feed the hungry

I was excited when come across my company is setting up a team to drive charity event; and I wish I am supportive enough by taking part instead of joining the community. So I took part in their first program which called "feed the hungry".

This program will assist the good folks of Grace Community Services with one of their activities - a food relief service which runs on every Sunday to provide a warm meal to over 300 homeless, vulnerable and underpreviledged people. I was surprised when I reach that place; out of my 20++ years in Malaysia, I have no idea on the existence of such place right in the center of KL. It was so crowded with people. Honestly I'm a bit scared when I was walking alone from the parking to the center.

So called feed the hungry, it is not just feeding, there are actually a lot of preparation work to be done behind the scene. We need to help in packing the rice with chicken and vege, prepare the drinks, cut the banana, spread the butter on bread and DISTRIBUTE IT. Seriously it ain't easy, we were working non stop from 2pm till 6pm. Nevertheless, I feel great when seeing the food recipient appreciate their food very much and I realize we should feel blessed for every proper meal that we are are having everyday. Kids, don't be choosy over what is in your plate!!

It was Sunday. A precious day for most of the ppl, of coz myself too. But I think it's really great to spend the weekend in something meaningful rather than laze it away on the coach with chips and TV.

If you would like to offer your hand, you can organize a small group, say 10, to help in this.

Emo

I feel kinda demotivated. It's like whatever I do is not up to their expectation, I'm struggling yet helpless. What can I do? Feels like an island where nobody knows my existence.

Good day

Danny and I are not working today, so we decided to have lunch with our ex-colleagues. It's a great catch up with them indeed. 5 of us including myself and Danny, 4 are no longer with my ex-com; and one is leaving soon as well, I can see everyone is happier now. Not to say my ex-com is a bad company, but they just move to a better position in the new company and definitely growing (in terms of job function as well as monetary. Lol). Not only that, it's really great to see one already become a father and one just started a new relationship. Seriously I feel happy for them, hope they enjoy their new chapter of life; which I'm pretty sure they are ;).
