Farewell for Yuen

Yuen is going to the Philippines soon, thus we decided to have a farewell dinner for him. Yuen is from ACS too but he left before I joined, then I know him from my other colleagues from ACS. We did hang out for several times before and he is a very funny guy. I always laugh until my jaw drop when I meet him with my other ex-colleagues.

Ten of us went to the Overseas Restaurant at Jalan Imbi. I heard about this restaurant from a lot of people but this is my first time being there, they said it is the flagship store of Overseas Restaurant. The food is really FABULOUS!!! We had Lou Sang, roast suckling pig, steam fish, spare ribs with red wine, frog and etc.. This is the best roast suckling pig I've ever had!! so crispy yet not too oily... Even the dessert - lotus paste pancake is damn nice wei.. Even Jitu, an indian (from India) also likes the frog and the pig!! Haha.. Oh, and what's the best thing? Yuen paid the bill!

We made a lot of noise. We dine and wine from 7pm till 10pm!!! There is one funny thing that happened in the restaurant. Me, Chia Lee and Cindy went to the restroom, there are only 2 compartments in the ladies. Both the compartments were occupied when we entered the restrooms. Then me and Chia Lee were a bit high already due to the alcohol effect and make some stupid jokes. Then we realize the person in one of the compartment still have not come out after a few round from the other compartment. Chia Lee said its a girl in that compartment "Oo Si", and we just laughed out loud after she made that statement. Then after that the door open and a GUY came out!!!! And the guy just said "Opps, sorry, I though this is the gents.". Then me and Chia Lee just stared at him and stoned. There is another aunty in the restroom too and she even have a faster response than us youngsters and told the guy "Nevermind, ha ha ha" and exit the restrooms. Luckily that guy is a teenager that is quite good looking, else we might just scream. Hahaha.

Cyberjaya

Finally I'm back to Cyberjaya after so many years. A lot of people might dislike working in Cyberjaya due to its sankala location; but I just love Cyberjaya because of the scenaric view, the futuristic building, the smooth traffic and definitely the most important is the sentimental value because I spent few years here since my Uni years. I used to work in Cyberjaya too after graduated. Cyberjaya always give me a great sense of belonging, just like when one go back to his or her hometown. And one more thing, the sky in Cyberjaya just looks more colourful. I don't know why, but you can always spot nice dusk while you finish work.

Today I used the new KL-Putrajaya Highway to travel from Kuchai Lama to Cyberjaya. It just took me 15-20 minutes to reach my office!! Unbelievable! The new highway is so vacant and straight forward. And what's more? it is still FOC!! Hopefully the toll won't be too expensive when they officially start operating. People who work in KL or PJ will understand that it is such a precious thing you can avoid all the traffic jam during the rush hour!! Now I just more and more love working in Cyberjaya; despite there is not much choice for the food here la. Haha.

Feel like dancing?

This is the idea came out from Allan's mum ...

Do you feel like dancing??

Next time Allan can ask for cover charge while having a potluck party at home. Haha..

By the way, I like the new colour of Allan's room.. So oceanic feel.. :)

Hmm, maybe we shall change the curtain to something blue as well...

Good Bye ACS

Today is my last working day in ACS. I tried to recap what I have been through for the past one and a half year here; I remember I was a so-called junior DBA who don't even know how to add space to a datafile when I just joined ACS; don't even mention the OCA and/or OCP certification. Really appreciate the chance given.I feel I'm always lucky to meet helpful seniors who give me lots of guidance and they are the people who groomed me well. Not just in ACS, but also in Scope which is my previous company.

Definitely there were ups and downs I encountered in ACS, I will miss the good friends of mine in this company which we shared our joy and they have been enduring my endless complaints during most of the lunch session we had, haha.. But still, I know we can keep in touch via MSN or someone's wedding in the future, right? And now, I'm happy that I can move to another milestone in my career, this will be something that I really want and like to do, hopefully it is not something out of my expectation.

Welcome 2008

It was a different new year day; Allan and I didn't go out for new year countdown. I think this is the first time we spent the night before 1st of Jan at home and not drunk, haha. Partially is due to I am on call, but we also don't feel like going out to take the risk end up counting down in the car.

I have already done a recap for year 2007. It was quite a productive year for me. This year, I can even have a new job on a new year! Haha. However, sadly I don't really excited for the new job. It is so not like me. I think my current job has killed my passion in my carreer. Hopefully I can accelerate again once I start the new job.

To kick start a good new year, I have achieved 3 achievements on last month which are suppose to be my 2008 new year resolution. Haha, mainly due to I am too free lately while nothing else to be transitioned in ACS. Firstly, I have passed my Oracle 9i to 10g upgrade exam 3 weeks ago; secondly, I have increased my monthly auto debit donation for charity. And thirdly... the most significant... is .. is ... is... Dang Dang Dang Dang... I have bought myself a saxophone on 30th December 2007!!! I'm so excited now and I am going to collect it tomorrow!! it has been 7-8 years I didn't play saxophone after left my secondary school band. For now, one more new year resolution for 2008 is to catch up my saxophone skill.
