Happy Rabbit Year

After a week off, I'm back to work today. As usual, it was a great CNY, I get to spend time with family and friends. I think this is the first year I felt paiseh to receive Ang Pow; I think this is the sense of ageing. Look at my eldest nephew, he is 10 years old now! It was like just happened yesterday when my sister was pregnant and we stay together in Seremban with my parents when my brother in law was at outstation. Ah... time flew~

I stayed at my Sister's place during CNY. Jean is now 8 years old and we can have pillow talk already. I love it when she tells me all her story in school and her feeling about everything. I had fun playing with my other nephews and nieces too, they bring laughters to my family; no wonder they say God brought children into this dark world because it needed the light that only a child can bring. It would be great if my parents can see this and I'm sure they will be x100 happier than what I'm feeling now, yeah I miss them, CNY will never be the same again without my parents. Btw, seeing all my nephews and nieces growing year after year, I wish I can spend more time with them before they are all grown up and find me naggy. Besides, the older I get, the more precious I find to spend time with relatives. I am blessed with relatives that are close to each other. The usual relatives gathering on the 2nd day of CNY is always the most anticipating events for me throughout the whole CNY.

On the 3rd day of CNY, I went to Sze Ling's crib with Chai Har and Lin Hui, we did nothing but chit chat for hoursssss. They are my best friends since secondary school but sadly we don't get to meet each other that often. I think the last time we met was during CNY last year. Although we seldom meet up but I can still feel the bonding; thats what real friendship suppose to be. Now Sze Ling is expecting a baby daughter! Awwww~~ I dunno how to describe the feeling when you see your best friend is a mummy-soon-to-be while you can still clearly remember her in her blue uniform. Are we really ageing but I wasn't realize until today?

Btw, it's just 5th day of CNY and I believe there will be more gatherings on it's way!!! Can't wait to meet up with you all!! YES, YOU!! I'm saying YOU!! Let's catch up..

An Yeong Ha Se Yo

My 4th day in Korea and probably this is one of the best day I have so far. I off work by 10pm, walked to the E-mart to grab some groceries, back to my apartment and had a HOT bath with my facial mask on, then sipping a bowl of Makkoli with strawberry and blogging while waiting Danny to come online.. ^__^

walk to and from office everyday in the snow. -13 degree celcius ain't no joke.

Yeah, I like the Makkoli more than the famous Korean soju. It's a milky rice wine and taste sweet & sour. Too bad I can't bring this back home coz it can't be kept for more than 1-2 days. I bought some Soju for Danny though :)

The tall green bottle is the Makkoli, must drink with bowl. When in korea, do the korean do.

And yeah, people talk about Korean strawberry a lot. It's indeed veeery sweet and not sour at all. It's nice, but still, fruit's just fruit, nothing to shout for. Btw I find their strawberry jam is nice.. gonna curi few small packet from my hote breakfast back home.. kekeke, yeah, I'm cheapskate.

Then the work culture.. its always long working hour, 9am till 11pm almost everyday. Meeting the whole day, lunch, drinking, dinner, drinking again, back to office continue working till late night, then go home. -___-. It's long working hour but doesn't seems productive to me. And they just speak in Korean in all the meeting. Imagine forcing yourself in a cinema for a bollywood movie without subtitle *sweat.... Btw there is a culture where I super loving it, which is the boss always pay for lunch and dinner.. EVERYTIME!! I dunno whether they claim it or not la.. but who cares, I got free meal everyday. hehe..Ya, told ya I'm cheapskate... but hey, their food are expensive, one simple meal can simply cost you rm30-40 .. even from the office canteen also cost RM10!

Talk about food. Korean food is nice. I love their bibimbap and the sweet&sour pork belly. See if I have time to explore the nice food in Seoul this weekend. :) Then will blog more about it.

Arghhhhh, see how many paragraphs I've blogged dy but where are you Mr. Wong??????!!

Farewell 2010, bring it on 2011

Year 2010 has been a crazily busy year for me. So busy, I haven't left much time for myself. I skipped a lot of family trips, and barely have chance to go exercise or facial or just a casual dinner gathering with my girls. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, in fact it was my new year resolution to focus in career and I really glad that I have a very understanding bf that support me comes rain or shine.

Well, it's been a year now, no doubt I've learnt a lot and grew a lot. I ditch my DBA role and get into performance testing team as a team lead, picking up more responsibilities and pressure comes in a package. It's not really a big BIG achievement but I'm happy with the exposure and cofidence I gained, moreover I started to find PT interesting albeit I still miss working on database.

Apparently it's been an eventful year for me in my career but definitely not my perfonal life. I was constantly working long hour and been sick many times in merely a year, I lost count, and even admitted into hospital due to dengue. So, for this coming year, a big contradict with my last year resolution, guess it's a high time to seriously start looking into striking a work-life balance. On a side note, more in my to-do list : to get a landed house, travel to 2 countries and go for a diving trip! And most importantly, to be a simpler and happier person.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU!!!!
